Dallas, Texas Nov 17, 2021 (Issuewire.com) – Dallas-native Rodman Steele founded his studio in 2018. It began with his students but he had the vision to expand beyond his own practice by helping other musicians make a living doing what they love while inspiring the next generation of musicians in Dallas.
“We’re teaching to students’ interests and talents. When you break away from the textbook style, students just have more fun with it.”
In 2019, Rodman Steele studios had a total of three employees and 35 students. Now, the studio has grown to 12 employees and 50 students. The studio has also partnered with the SMU Incubator and has established a full recording studio and lesson space in the incubator.
With great growth came the need to restructure the studio for a bright future. This year, the studio rolled out its 2.0 initiative and introduced a number of new avenues to serve the musical community. The new studio offerings include recording sessions, audio engineering/production instruction, master classes with local professional musicians, and an honors program for outstanding students.
“There is a great need for modern music education. The barrier to entry is unnecessarily high for young musicians and we’re here to tear those barriers down,” says studio founder Rodman Steele.
The goal of the honors program is to create musical collaboration skills and help students meet similarly driven musicians. Instead of teaching music as a passive base of knowledge, Rodman Steele Studio aims to provide students with the ability to put the knowledge they gain in individual lessons into a live context.
“We believe that the goal of music is connection. We are all about providing students with the opportunity to share their music with each other and their communities,” says Steele.
“We are working to create a vibrant community of music lovers who have the confidence and skills to share their music all across Dallas. We love our city and are thrilled to be a part of adding to its cultural richness.”
